Whispering sellers in the Ribeira peddle fakes — and sometimes their "police friend" is around the corner. Just keep walking.
🚕 Taxi detour
Without a meter or with a "broken" meter the fare climbs. Take Bolt or Uber — price fixed up front.
👝 Pickpockets
Especially on the historic tram and around São Bento station. Backpack in front, phone not in your back pocket.

A rose or bracelet given "for free" is aggressively charged for moments later. Politely decline.
